Plaza Branch and Central Library will open late at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 due to the Kansas City Marathon.
Physicist Gerardo Herrera Corral and renowned Mexican sculptor Sebastian discuss their new book Cuántica. El sinuoso sendero a la realidad (Quantum. The Winding Path to Reality), a project born out of weekly conversations about their work and the world around them.
The goal of this event is not to explain science, but to invite the audience to experience the world -- what is invisible to the human eye and what is easily observed in nature and art -- through the lens of quantum mechanics.
The program commemorates 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology as declared by the United Nations and the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Co-sponsored by MASA (the Migrating Assembly for Stories and Art).
